April is over, so it's favourites time!!
I spent a lot of this month back at home during the easter break, stuffing myself silly with easter eggs and catching up on the endless amounts of TV that I had missed while at uni (we don't have a TV licence there, or a TV haha).
Hand Creams
I have really ugly hands from all the years I spent biting my nails. I've finally kicked this awful habit (just about), but my nails are so weak and break so easily. So this month I decided to take better care of my hands and it's actually working! I'm so happy that my nails are growing and I really think it's down to the Lemony Flutter Cuticle Butter from Lush. My Auntie recommended this to me and it has such a great scent, it smells like sherbert lemons! I've also been using The Body Shop Strawberry Hand Cream which smells divine! So I now have really soft hands and my nails are growing, YAY!!!
Paper Towns by John Green
I'm a sucker for a John Green book. I couldn't control the tears while reading The Fault in Our Stars and in Looking for Alaska I became so attached to the characters. As Paper Towns has been made into a film, I wanted to read the book before it comes out in cinemas this summer. I haven't actually finished the book (I do a history degree, so I don't really have time to read a book that I can enjoy, waaahh), but so far it has been an entertaining read. It's a bit of a mystery, and I'm terrible at remembering clues and I never guess the ending correctly, so I'm super excited to see how this ends. Quick summary- Q's neighbour Margo is a bit of a mystery. They spend one night driving around town, exacting revenge on people, and then the next day she is gone. Q takes it upon himself to find out where she has gone and what has happened to her. A really good read, but if the ending is rubbish don't hold it against me haha.
NOW That's What I Call Power Ballads
I love listening to this CD when I'm driving alone in my car as I am a pretty terrible singer and I don't want to offend anyone when I really go for it. Although when there are four girls in the car and Natalie Imbruglia Torn comes on, you can't help but sing it at the top of your lungs!
I've been loving lemon water for quite a while now. I gave up fizzy drinks for lent so it was pretty much all I drank! One of my resolutions this year (and every other year..) was to drink more water, and normally I fail because water is so boring, but adding lemon just make it taste so much better. And because it is a detox water, it makes you feel so much better as it helps speed up your metabolism and gets rid of any nasties in your body. I also bought these cute little jar cups and I've wanted to show them off for ages and I finally can hahaa!
I saw this cute little notebook on Instagram and I had to have it. I have to repeat this quote several times a day just to keep sane so having it on a notebook seemed appropriate. This store has some really lovely bits and if I had more money I would have bought all of it! There is a fab pencil case that is next on my list of things to purchase! Check out the designs here.
Something Borrowed, Something New
As I spent a lot of time back home in April, it meant I had a lot of time to reconnect with an old friend, the Sky+ box. My Mum has discovered TLC, and how to record things, so she had loads of episodes of this lined up for me to watch. This programme is about Mums who want their daughters to wear their wedding dresses on their big day, but normally the dresses are from the 80s and have awful puffy sleeves and are just plain gross! So Kelly (the designer) makes a whole new dress out of the mums old dress and they are always amazing. You'd never guess they had once looked so terrible! And Sam (the stylist) has the job of finding the bride a completely new dress. Then the question is asked; will they get married in something borrowed, or will they say 'I do' in something new? It's so cheesy. Me and Mum always try to guess which dress they will choose, and I keep telling Mum she needs to find her dress!! We wasted so much time over easter watching this programme and drove my Dad insane hahaa.
Teddy Bear Blanket
Okay, so I know that it is spring now and the warmer weather is coming, but this blanket is the softest thing in the entire world. I have wanted a super soft blanket for a while as my housemate Tash has the nicest one and I felt I was missing out. So I saw this and fell in love. What I didn't realise was how big it was. IT IS HUGE!!!! It is also super warm and as the weather in April was really lovely I haven't been able to use it much!!
Here's a selfie demonstrating how on point my eyeliner has been this month...
(I know it's very pose-y, but check out that wing, dammmn)
I'm kinda sad April is over because that means May is beginning and that means exams. NOOOOOOO.

Hope you all had a lovely April!!
