May Favourites

May is always my least favourite month of the year because it means it's exam time. For me, May is just a month of stressing out and revising, which explains why I haven't updated this blog recently! I really felt the pressure this year to work hard and do well in these exams, so hopefully my grades reflect the effort I put in!
So what items have been making May more enjoyable?

Stabilo Felt Tips
You can't revise without buying new stationery, can you? These felt tips made my revision so much more colourful and there are so many pretty colours! I probably didn't need these because I have so many other felt tips, but buying pens makes me happy, okay?

This face mask was so nice to relax in after a day in the library. It smells so nice, a bit like porridge! It cleanses, polishes and moisturises your skin (hence the 3-in-1). It is nice and quick as you only leave it on for 10-15 mins and when you take it off, it acts as an exfoliator to really clean your face. It leaves my face so soft and renewed, I love it! Quick warning: Don't leave it on for too long as it becomes almost impossible to get off!

This stuff actually tastes like popcorn, I want to eat the whole pot. It's just like the sweet and salty popcorn that I am obsessed with. It leaves my lips so soft and it's so easy to use, I also have it in the bubblegum flavour but this one is defo my fave.

I really wanted an orange lipstick for agessss and this is my perfect shade. It is not too orange, more red if anything, but it is still beautiful. It is quite matte and the colour is so strong on the lips. It's such a summery colour and will look so lovely on tanned skin. This is the first Topshop lipstick I have bought and I'm so impressed with it, I will defo be buying more as they are such good quality for the price!

This highlighter is soooo pretty! It is so shimmery and creamy, it blends really easily onto the skin and gives you such a lovely, natural looking glow. The rose gold packaging it also super cute.

Primark Denim Skirt
I don't know why I fell in love with this skirt so much, but for just £10 I couldn't really say no. This cute A-line skirt buttons up the front and fits me perfectly (I find that clothes in Primark  n e v e r  fit me properly). Mum said that I used to have a skirt just like this with a matching denim hat when I was a little girl. Surely putting me in a denim hat was some sort of abuse...

Going to the Gym
I've never really enjoyed exercising before and saw it more as a chore than something to enjoy. But recently I've been going as a way of de-stressing and as a bit of a procrastination tool. I figured that I could go to the gym instead of revising because that was a positive use of my time, rather than binge watching Once Upon a Time on Netflix (my current TV obsession). I actually feel a lot better about myself and even though I haven't been going to the gym for that long, I can see results and I feel so much fitter. My stamina has improved massively and running up two flights of stairs in my house no longer kills me! I've been going around 4 times a week, mostly just running and toning up on the mats. I'm worried that over summer I will let this routine slip as I don't have a gym membership back home, but fingers crossed I keep exercising!

So that was May. It feels like it has been such a busy month, but nothing much has happened! I've now finished my second year at uni which is insane and I've now got such a long summer holidays which is fab.

Hope you all had a wonderful May!

April Favourites

April is over, so it's favourites time!!
I spent a lot of this month back at home during the easter break, stuffing myself silly with easter eggs and catching up on the endless amounts of TV that I had missed while at uni (we don't have a TV licence there, or a TV haha).

Hand Creams
I have really ugly hands from all the years I spent biting my nails. I've finally kicked this awful habit (just about), but my nails are so weak and break so easily. So this month I decided to take better care of my hands and it's actually working! I'm so happy that my nails are growing and I really think it's down to the Lemony Flutter Cuticle Butter from Lush. My Auntie recommended this to me and it has such a great scent, it smells like sherbert lemons! I've also been using The Body Shop Strawberry Hand Cream which smells divine! So I now have really soft hands and my nails are growing, YAY!!!

Paper Towns by John Green
I'm a sucker for a John Green book. I couldn't control the tears while reading The Fault in Our Stars and in Looking for Alaska I became so attached to the characters. As Paper Towns has been made into a film, I wanted to read the book before it comes out in cinemas this summer. I haven't actually finished the book (I do a history degree, so I don't really have time to read a book that I can enjoy, waaahh), but so far it has been an entertaining read. It's a bit of a mystery, and I'm terrible at remembering clues and I never guess the ending correctly, so I'm super excited to see how this ends. Quick summary- Q's neighbour Margo is a bit of a mystery. They spend one night driving around town, exacting revenge on people, and then the next day she is gone. Q takes it upon himself to find out where she has gone and what has happened to her. A really good read, but if the ending is rubbish don't hold it against me haha.

NOW That's What I Call Power Ballads
I love listening to this CD when I'm driving alone in my car as I am a pretty terrible singer and I don't want to offend anyone when I really go for it. Although when there are four girls in the car and Natalie Imbruglia Torn comes on, you can't help but sing it at the top of your lungs!

Lemon Water
I've been loving lemon water for quite a while now. I gave up fizzy drinks for lent so it was pretty much all I drank! One of my resolutions this year (and every other year..) was to drink more water, and normally I fail because water is so boring, but adding lemon just make it taste so much better. And because it is a detox water, it makes you feel so much better as it helps speed up your metabolism and gets rid of any nasties in your body. I also bought these cute little jar cups and I've wanted to show them off for ages and I finally can hahaa!

Sighh Notebook
I saw this cute little notebook on Instagram and I had to have it. I have to repeat this quote several times a day just to keep sane so having it on a notebook seemed appropriate. This store has some really lovely bits and if I had more money I would have bought all of it! There is a fab pencil case that is next on my list of things to purchase! Check out the designs here.

Something Borrowed, Something New
As I spent a lot of time back home in April, it meant I had a lot of time to reconnect with an old friend, the Sky+ box. My Mum has discovered TLC, and how to record things, so she had loads of episodes of this lined up for me to watch. This programme is about Mums who want their daughters to wear their wedding dresses on their big day, but normally the dresses are from the 80s and have awful puffy sleeves and are just plain gross! So Kelly (the designer) makes a whole new dress out of the mums old dress and they are always amazing. You'd never guess they had once looked so terrible! And Sam (the stylist) has the job of finding the bride a completely new dress. Then the question is asked; will they get married in something borrowed, or will they say 'I do' in something new? It's so cheesy. Me and Mum always try to guess which dress they will choose, and I keep telling Mum she needs to find her dress!! We wasted so much time over easter watching this programme and drove my Dad insane hahaa.

Teddy Bear Blanket
Okay, so I know that it is spring now and the warmer weather is coming, but this blanket is the softest thing in the entire world. I have wanted a super soft blanket for a while as my housemate Tash has the nicest one and I felt I was missing out. So I saw this and fell in love. What I didn't realise was how big it was. IT IS HUGE!!!! It is also super warm and as the weather in April was really lovely I haven't been able to use it much!!

Here's a selfie demonstrating how on point my eyeliner has been this month...
(I know it's very pose-y, but check out that wing, dammmn)

I'm kinda sad April is over because that means May is beginning and that means exams. NOOOOOOO.

Hope you all had a lovely April!!

March Favourites

March is over and I thought I'd share what I've been loving this month. I love reading about other people's favourites and finding out what I should try next so thought I'd do my own!

Liz Earle Cleanse and Polish
This stuff is fab. Smells so fresh and removes all my makeup easy-peasy, I really feel like I have my life together when I use this. And it hasn't made me break out in spots which is always a plus. Would recommend this to everyone, 10/10, holy grail skin product.

Body Shop Vitamin E Intense Moisture Cream
The colder months always leave my skin looking dry and dead, but this moisturiser has brought me back to life. Gone are the flakes and dull patches! The scent isn't overpowering and it has a thick consistency so it really feels like it is doing your skin some good.

The Body Shop Coconut Range
Bought for me as a birthday present in February, I've used this stuff all month long! I never used to use an exfoliator but now I can't do without it! Already love the body butters from The Body Shop and this shower cream is divine. I will defo be buying these bits in their full size when I run out!

Olivia Burton Watch
I never used to wear a watch but after getting this for my birthday I can't be without it! It's got a rose gold face (so it's super cute) with a black strap (so it goes with everything). Ahhh I love it so much, when you next see me ask me what the time is.

New Look Patent Black Loafers
I normally live in my Converse, but this month I decided I needed to branch out in terms of footwear choice. Although they did give me pretty severe blisters the first time I wore them, they are now the comfiest shoes ever and I have worn them to death. May have to buy another pair for when these ones have given up on me...

Long Sleeved Crop Tops
I have quite a few and they are my faves. Perfect with a skirt or jeans, perfect dressed up for a night out and just as good dressed down for daytime. Especially good in these colder months when you need to cover up but you wanna show you're here to party. Also they are a good way to remind yourself to work on those abs for summer...

Milky Bar Mini Eggs
I have a problem. I cannot stop eating these and for £1 a bag I can't help myself! And seeing as you can only get them at easter I may as well pig out while I can. Same applies for Creme Eggs...

Community
This was the TV show I wasted time watching in March. I watched 5 seasons of this on Netflix and have no regrets. A series about a Spanish study group in a Community College, it's a really weird comedy that makes no sense and cannot be described easily. But I loved it and I'm now watching season 6 on TV so I can't binge watch. Once you start binge watching, you can't go back to waiting every week for the next episode.
 #struggles
Have a selfie from Bath the other week...

So that was March. With all this chocolate around wrecking havoc with my skin I think I'll need to step up my skin care routine in April. Let me know what you've been loving this month and anything I should try in April!
